Hmm… this is the first time I write my post in English. I hope you would not laugh if I made mistake here. Ha ha ha… my friends have a big impression on me just because I got band 4 for my MUET. Well, to tell you the truth I don’t feels that I deserves it. My pronunciations are bad, my grammar is poor, as the conclusion, my English is sucks…
I can still remember, I was sixteen back then when me n my friend, a girl, my-girl-friend, but she is not my girlfriend in term of ‘that’ kind of relationship, we were just friend, nothing more and nothing less. Ok back to the story, me and my friend were chosen to represent my school to the aeronautics program called Future Aviator (like hell I care).
In that program I meet so many people from around this country accept Sabah and Serawak. Most of them came from science school. I mean they were elite student unlike me. We are like sky and earth. But I manage to fit in. I got two roommate, one from JB and THE other one is from Negeri Sembilan (I forgot which part). I can still remember, in only one day, we’ve became so closed each other that make us look like that we were friends for years. We didn’t sleep during the first night at the hotel. We spend the night talking and laughing, it’s so much fun.
That is the first time I sleep at a hotel like that. It has TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, bath tub, and the most interesting it have telephone. We used the phone to disturb others room. The views from the window are quite nice. I can see the pool and outside the place, I can see Selat Melaka. Talking about pool, that is the first time I swim with girls, I mean Malay girls. Ha ha ha… I am a kampong boy, maybe we used to swim at RBR (Rompin Beach Resort), but I never swim with any girls (I repeat Malay girls). I was so like ‘rusa masuk kampung’. D*mn h*t!
Okay, there something about this program that I have to tell you, we are supposes to speak English. The lecture, the tutorial, the tourist guide, it is all in English. Well, I may not have too much problems in order to understand it. It is just like watching sci-fi movie. It’s involved so many scientific terms. During that time, we learn science and math in Malays. To make it worst, I'm just starting my new year as SPM students, I didn’t even really know what is physic or aeronautic.
Some time it annoyed me when this people really showing off. Speaking English proudly, I’m not jealous for sure. It’s just that maybe I was too young to understand the important of English. The only reason I learn English back then was to past my exam.
There was a time in a bus, I sat with my friends. On my left is one beautiful girl, with fair skin, and a pair of cute hazel eyes. Do you still remember, the girl on the pool? Well, this is the girl that I was talking about. The different is now she is wearing a scarf. D*mn h*t, if only she would be my… nah, forget it.
She approach me, and she smile at me. I smile back at her. She said “What do you think about the program? ”. Then I answered “I’m a Malay, I’m sorry I don’t speak English”. Blush, the girl's face turns red. I don’t know whether she is shy or angry, the only thing I remember, she never smile at me anymore. Hell if I care.
